As a football fan, I couldn't help but tell my wife about the recent announcement for the grand opening of a Washington Redskins-themed restaurant in Ashburn, Virginia. But she wasn't surprised to hear that 'Hail + Hog Kitchen and Tap' was preparing to open at One Loudoun because we're used to eating like hogs at all the restaurants in that neighborhood!

If you're unfamiliar with One Loudoun, you should check it out because you may decide to move to Ashburn the minute you lay eyes on it.

Described as a "pedestrian-friendly urban oasis" by The Washington Post, One Loudoun features over 700,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment. And it has a variety of places to settle into, if you're looking to purchase Northern Virginia real estate within striking distance of the nation's capital.

Located off of Route 7 and the Loudoun County Parkway, One Loudoun is still growing. According to The Post, it has become the urban focal point of the county in just two short years. To put it simply, it provides "a life-changing amenity that enables residents to walk everywhere because most everything that one needs is right there."

Here's a short-list of restaurants and food establishments that make One Loudoun so tantalizing:

Bar Louie, Uncle Julios and Sense of Thai Street... Eddie Merlot's, Plan B Burger and Matchbox American Kitchen and Spirit.

Spin Fire Custom Pizza also draws a crowd and Hail Hog will have crowds buzzing when it opens in late spring. But if you love live music and great spirits, look no further that the new 'World of Beer', set to open on March 14th, just in time for St. Patrick's Day and college basketball's March Madness.

If you wish to call One Loudoun home, now is a good time to research Ashburn Real Estate, because a new living community is preparing to open soon. Per its website, One Loudoun is promoting Stanley Martin Homes’ Downtown Collection, which "will feature 160 city style condominiums and 28 townhomes that offer rooftop outdoor living." Homeowners residing in the Downtown Collection at One Loudoun "will enjoy an all-encompassing, new community where everything you need is conveniently together."

So come on out to One Loudoun to experience the 'new urbanism' of Ashburn, VA. And if you're looking to buy a home, consider it for its culture and entertainment. One Loudoun may be vibrant and new, but it has the character of an old-fashioned community, where you can work, shop, dine and socialize in a place where everyone will know your name.
